Atote Cooperative is a group of women living in a village (kebele) called Makala. The group was formed during previous project in the area in order to facilitate saving and credit access for its members. Foregoing project provided to the cooperative training and seed capital, which is being multiplied from interests. The cooperative is officially registered, has clear structure and owns bank account.
The cooperative nowadays has 57 members, has total capital of 90 000 ETB (30 000 ETB on the bank account and 60 000 ETB borrowed to its members). In the next interview we will bring you an interview with the Chairwoman of the Cooperative.
